Afternoon off work following early start, to coincide with windy afternoon.
Got down to the bay to find VFW Mark already out, Baydrew & Francis rigging up, plus another fella on his first outing this year.
Mark was on 5.2m & 90ltr(considering changing down to 4.7m!), Baydrew rigged 5.3m & 3S97, Francis rigged 5.0m and 92ltr, and the other guy had a 5.8m on an older F2.
Gutted turned up just after I'd got there and he rigged 5.0m on U-Surf84. I went for freewave 104 & 5.3m ego.
Typically for sessions with gutted at pevensey, the gods were against us, and even with the bigger set up, I was soon floundering. Gutted swapped his U-Surf for a 100ltr Woolystylewave RRD thingy, but still he struggled also.
Some flyweight joined us and was planing more than us, but at little more than 50kgs soaking wet this was not such a surprise.
Got a few decent runs in, and a lot of bogging in between times. Couple of decent jumps too.
But all in all, a more wordy way of saying I felt cheated today. Yesterday was so much better, yet today had all the ingredients for the better day.
Sh*t happens, tomorrow could be a Minster session looking at forecasts !!
